Excerpts from my journal

" I love film because it is imperfect and unpredictable, but it has drawn true and deep emotion from me in a way that digital never has. Part of the allure is the moments; the making of and the impermanence of. It has made me slow down, pay attention, and learn to accept imperfection. Life does not have Photoshop...

Beautiful prints take time, patience, and attention. So, too, does making a great wine...

I love wine because it is alive, and it has a timeline just like we do. It is grown from the vine (mother), squeezed out from the protection of the skin, set to agitate and mutate and bubble with a ferocity of change and growth. All under very watchful eyes. Then it must be separated from the life which no longer serves it in order to mature. The greatest can take years. But you must allow it that time. Nothing but time will give you the same results.

It is the great equalizer."

I studied photography at Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, CO before plunging myself into the world of wine in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, where I lived for 2 years. In the summer of 2019, I leapt once again and moved to Napa, CA. I continue my practice of photography by capturing my reality as I see it. I shoot in both Digital and Film, but find myself happiest in the darkroom.
